Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is India’s one of the biggest Information Technology brand name for services and problem solutions. Though country has many other brand names in the field of IT services like Wipro, Infosys and many more. Company reported good revenue growth for the quarter ended Dec. 31 2005, on the basis of new client wins and an increment in business from company’s existing clients. Revenue for the quarter was 32 billion Indian rupees almost $721 million which is reported up by 26% over revenue of 25.8 billion rupees in the last year. Though the profit for the quarter grew by only 3.5% than the last year. This is because of company's expenses salaries and wages that accounted more than doubled. This success from the house of TCS suggests that Indian outsourcing companies currently are riding a boom in overseas services sector.

Demand of India Software Development

TCS has also bagged an order from Pearl Group in the U.K. to manage company’s business processes in mid October 2005. It was one of the successive steps of the company in the field of India Software Development. Though the staff from the Pearl Group would not lose their jobs as a result of the deal. This new subsidiary would recruit about 950 of the 1,100 employees on company’s current staff, with the balance to stay on at the side of Pearl Group. This success suggests the demand of India Software Development in the market globally for BPO services also. Company has been operating in the U.K. and Ireland since 1975 and also possesses 8 offices in these market areas. This figure also includes a development center in Guildford, U.K.

In June 2005, company also declared to setup an IT Outsourcing services joint venture in China with Microsoft including 2 software parks in the country. Both the companies were selected as strategic partners by the Sino-India Cooperative Office (SICO) of the Chinese government, declared by TCS. This plant would start operations in early 2006. It will provide IT Outsourcing and other problem solutions and IT services to all major global markets. TCS one of the important part of India Software Development, is going to hold a majority stake in this deal.
