Virtusa Software Development to enlarge strength in Sri Lanka

Company also possesses global presence for development services. Virtusa has its huge presence in India, Sri Lanka and many more countries for IT Outsourcing services. Recently the spoke person of the company declared that “Virtusa Software Development to enlarge strength in Sri Lanka”. He also announced that company is planning to invest 15 million dollars to increase operations and services in Sri Lanka for IT services.

Company Virtusa is planning to invest around 48 million dollars in Asia for the fiscal year 2006-2007 according to the news. This investment of the company is a part of their overall investment in Asia. Company is also to invest 33 million dollars investment in India for IT services. These figures indicate the aggressiveness of the company for their global expansion.

Software Development Services

According to the spoke person of the company, most of the investments into the country Sri Lanka will facilitate cultivate company’s business and raise their manpower strength in Sri Lanka for IT Outsourcing facility. At present company Virtusa employs some 2,500 workforce in its Global Technology Centers in the Indian cities like Hyderabad and Chennai and Colombo in Sri Lanka for Software Development services.

The company has protected over six acres of estate in prime Hi Tec City of India Hyderabad, with strategy to splash millions of dollars to construct a campus for up to 5,000 employees for Software Development. Company already has good presence in India for IT Outsourcing services and doing well and now it is in the expansion phase in the country along with Sri Lanka.

Though, company has not that much manpower strength in Sri Lanka for IT services and this figure indicates the headcount of just fewer than 1,000, with employment openings for another 300 people this year. Currently company declared ideas to shape a development facility to house up to 3,000 manpower in Sri Lanka.

Though, this plans are yet to be firmed up. It also includes investments into infrastructure and other Information Technology services and facilities for better quality Software Development services. The privately held corporation does not reveal financial data of the plan, but stated in a statement that company have enjoyed a 3-year composite annual growth rate of over 45 percent for IT Outsourcing.

The Boston based Virtusa company offers Software Development and other Information Technology services, to clients that includes General Electric Co. and Xerox Corp along with many other brand names.
